Shawn Smith, Founder and President
Mr. Smith has over 20 years of experience in the development of software systems and business management. Prior to founding Vigilant Solutions, Shawn was a key developer of probabilistic risk assessment models used by the U.S. Navy, developed analysis and decision systems for optimization of semiconductor manufacturing lines within Texas Instruments and Motorola, and founded Global Knowledge Systems which was later acquired by Applied Materials where he served as Managing Director.
Dr. Dinh Tien Son, Founder and Chief Scientist
Dr. Son has extensive history in the development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Prior to founding Vigilant, Dr. Son founded the Dolsoft Co. Ltd. over 15 years ago and served as Leader of Science where he developed a range of technologies and methods to develop a GIS system. Dr. Son has also served as the leader of the WinGIS Group which developed GIS in both Vietnam and Moscow. Later, at Vigilant Solutions, Dr. Son developed highly accurate methods for optical character recognition and facial recognition. Dr. Son holds both undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in Math Faculty (Theory of Functions) from the State University of Odessa, one of the most prestigious mathematical universities in the world, where he graduated first in his class. Dr. Son’s stellar reputation has enabled Vigilant to attract the some of the most talented programmers and mathematicians in the world.
Steve Cintron, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Cintron has over 15 years of experience providing strategic and financial consulting advise to companies in the United States, Australia, Central America and the United Kingdom. Mr. Cintron was a consultant for Bain & Company, and has held senior operating positions in several emerging technology companies. Mr. Cintron holds an MBA from Stanford University and a Bachelors degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Neil Schlisserman, Vice President of Sales
Mr. Schlisserman has more than 25 years of experience in the sales and delivery of software and services to enterprise customers. Most recently, Neil was a member of the global management team for Memex – a leading provider of intelligence management solutions to law enforcement that was acquired by the SAS Institute in 2010. Neil has held a variety of other executive and management positions at organizations such as Sapient Corporation, Deloitte Consulting and American Management Systems (now CGI) during his career. Neil received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems with High University Honors from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
Tom Joyce, Vice President of Product Development
Mr. Joyce is a retired member of the NYPD in the rank of Lieutenant Commander of Detectives. He commanded the NYPD Cold Case Squad upon his retirement and additionally held many other roles within the detective and organized crime bureaus. Prior to working with Vigilant Solutions, Tom was the Director of Law Enforcement Market Planning for LexisNexis Government Services. Tom often lectures on various subject matters relating to Homicide Investigations and has published numerous articles on criminal investigations. Tom is currently a member of the International Homicide Investigators Association’s Advisory Board.
Mark Kruse, Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Kruse has over 10 years experience working with high tech software solutions. Prior to joining Vigilant during its early start-up, Mark was programming large data warehouse integration applications for the semiconductor industry. Mark later transitioned into a customer facing role, managing a team of applications engineers responsible for high availability data aggregation and analysis solutions for Applied Materials. Mark interfaced between the Applied Materials product development team and the world's leading semiconductor factories in the US, Europe and Asia. Mark has found his passion at Vigilant driving high-tech public safety solutions that save lives.
Stuart Mallory, Vice President of International Sales and Channel Development
Mr. Mallory possesses more than 20 years of executive sales management experience, specializing in International Market Development. Most recently, in his role of Vice President of International Sales, Stuart expanded the international business of Zoll by unifying the channel processes while also introducing many new product offerings into both long established and newly defined markets. Prior to Zoll, Stuart led the International Sales Group at Kustom Signals for almost 11 years. During that time, he created ongoing business relationships in over 70 countries worldwide, and was responsible for some of the largest contract awards in the company’s history. Prior to his tenure at Kustom, Stuart owned multiple businesses in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas where he also attended Washburn University.
Brian Shockley, Vice President of Product Management, Hardware & Integrated Solutions
Mr. Shockley has 15 years of marketing and product management experience. Prior to joining Vigilant Solutions, Brian has held senior marketing roles with NDI Recognition Systems, PIPS Technology, and Aldis. Other work experience includes product management and marketing leadership positions with John Deere, Valvoline, and Bullard. Brian’s educational background includes a BS degree from Carson Newman College, an MBA from the University of Tennessee, and Strategic Marketing Management Executive Education from Harvard Business School.
