Our Passion

Vigilant Solutions is about protecting officers, families and communities.  Vigilant is about saving lives – creating innovative and essential intelligence solutions for law enforcement that enhance policing efforts.  Intelligence can solve crimes, prevent crimes before they occur, and improve safety for officers and the public that they serve.  Vigilant's solutions are designed to collect, organize and share data to credentialed law enforcement personnel, making intelligence readily accessible and easy to use.

Vigilant Solutions appreciates that no one knows law enforcement better than practitioners, and we also know that no one understands imaging systems and database technology like we do.  Vigilant works with its law enforcement customers to understand their unique needs, and applies technology to create innovative solutions that enhance investigations with easy-to-use and practical tools.

Vigilant’s innovation and thought leadership has resulted in several firsts.

•  Recognizing the many other commercial applications for LPR technology, Vigilant Solutions began selling LPR systems into commercial entities beginning in March 2008.  Deployed for access control, vehicle recovery, scofflaw, and other applications, these systems began the foundation of what is now the world’s largest private LPR data network.  This initiative, called the National Vehicle Location Service, is shared to credentialed law enforcement as an enhanced investigative data set via null.

•  While supporting industry data sharing efforts such as the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and LPR Data (LPRD), Vigilant saw an opportunity to leverage the strength of its private LPR data network to create something of extreme value to law enforcement.  In August 2009, Vigilant invested in a secure and accredited data center to host the nation’s first central LPR data repository, the National Vehicle Location Service.  NVLS data is available for Vigilant customers using null, and is accessible for basic searches to all credentialed law enforcement via the internet.
